Austria’s largest private fiber partnership to start roll-out in many regions this spring The EU Commission granted competition clearance for Alpen Glasfaser GmbH, the fiber partnership between Magenta Telekom and French infrastructure partner Meridiam. The clearance was granted without any conditions. Magenta and Meridiam had announced the formation of a strategic partnership for Austria’s largest private fiber roll-out initiative in August 2022.  The newly established Alpen Glasfaser GmbH can thus commence operations and start rolling out fiber in many regions of Austria immediately this spring. Researchers from the University of Cambridge have analysed more than 800,000 tweets and found that negative emotions expressed about geoengineering – the idea that the climate can be altered using technology – can easily fall into conspiracy.  The researchers analysed tweets 2009 and 2021 tagged with #geoengineering. Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has announced the opening of its second compressed natural gas (CNG) station in the state of California, increasing availability of lower carbon fuels to heavy duty vehicles.
