Google searches reveal that public interest in biodiversity has increased over the last decade, according to a new global analysis.  Nevertheless, interest in actions to save nature declined over the same period.  Higher economic inequality and reduced purchasing power were associated with lower interest in biodiversity and conservation.  This global disconnect between interest and action will make it hard to achieve key Convention for Biological Diversity targets, researchers warn.  In a new study led by the Department of Biology, University of Oxford, in collaboration with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, researchers found that from 2013 to 2020 global biodiversity-related Google…
